Every District in Zimbabwe has a main office and several sub-offices. One can register for an ID at any nearest registry office (initial or replacements).

In accordance with passport issuance regulations, an expired passport is not eligible for extension, regardless of the number of unused or unstamped pages. Applicants are required to submit a new passport application upon expiry.

An applicant must be present in person for the ID registration process since the process involves biometrics capture.

The Department has not yet moved any of its services to online platforms, including passport applications. Members of the public are advised to disregard any claims or advertisements suggesting otherwise and to exercise caution to avoid fraud or misinformation. All passport applications must be made in person through officially designated Registry Offices and Zimbabwean Embassies or Consulates.
