- Facilitate documentation and recording of the accurate liberation war history

- Promote the incorporation of the liberation war history into learning materials at all levels
- Produce the liberation struggle war history in the form of films, documentaries, books and oral narratives
- Deposit recorded Liberation War History to the National Archives of Zimbabwe
- Coordinate the identification, exhumation, repatriation and reburial of the fallen heroes remains
- Create a register of all those who joined the Liberation Struggle but did not return
- Create a register of all those who joined the Liberation Struggle but died before they were vetted
- Facilitate the issuance of Death Certificates to all those who were presumed dead as a result of the liberation war
- Assist children born out of the liberation war to locate their parents
- Identification of veterans who died during the liberation war and after the war before vetting and register them
